Hi all, I am looking for an experience teacher to help during a busy time on the farm. We are starting the second round of cattle work for the months of July and August, and I am wanting to get out of the school room for a time to assist with this. We are on 160,000 acres and run approximately 4000 breeders so this will take up most of term 3. I (Doll) teach in the mornings and as a family we try and get involved in the farm in the afternoon.
Jock is in Grade 1 and a typical bush boy. He is energetic and loves hands on learning and math. He has a very strong personality which although is a wonderful asset, needs a little redirection at times. He is very active and loves motorbikes, animals and people. He has a solid foundation in the school room and the set tasks are completed easily enough. He completes his schooling through Charleville Distance Education and a lot of lessons are done via a zoom type platform and he will just need supervision during this time. Other lessons are delivered via paper lessons such as HASS, Science, Art, HPE etc. Our youngest Zoe has a Nanny to assist with eKindy and afternoon activities. Together both children love science experiments in the afternoon, the more bang the better! They also enjoy going exploring and picnics. Any extra activities like leaning music /doing science experiments/ arts and crafts etc would be greatly valued as our children do not have much exposure to these things with school time restrictions and our distance from town.
We are 110km from the local town of Mitchell, with 35km of this are recently graded gravel road. We have a few accommodation options- there is a full 3 bedroom house that the Nanny uses, a brand new smaller 2 bedroom self-contained cabin that is in its final stages of completion (hopefully to be finished winter holidays!) or plenty of space to park a caravan and use power and water.
